Falling in Love with the Problem: Our CSIRO ON Prime Journey

We’re excited to share our recent experience with CSIRO’s ON Prime program. For those who haven’t heard of it, ON Prime is kind of a pre-accelerator. It pushes you to abandon the “look how cool our tech is” mentality and instead, fall in love with the problem you are trying to solve. The program pushes you to rigorously re-validate your assumptions – and it was a real challenge and game-changer for us.

Gains from Pains

We started with an intensive customer engagement program, interviewing over 80 people to understand their pain points and what they really wanted from a product in our space. We spoke to decision-makers, managers, and experts across a range of industries, and the insights we gained were invaluable. There were some “aha!” moments (and maybe a couple of face-palms) along the way. We had to let go of a lot of our pre-conceived ideas and embrace some home truths – not always easy, but definitely for the best.

What did we learn?

A lot about paint points and therefore what we should be focused on. AImbience is a tool designed to help decision-makers and managers cut through the noise and focus on what really matters. Imagine you’re in a complex environment with a ton of variables, different sources of expertise, and a whole lot of data flying around. AImbience takes a holistic view of it all, adds in some organisational context, and helps you make informed decisions.

The tech:

Under the hood, our tech is busy uncovering hidden patterns and relationships, identifying key factors, and basically illuminating the path to better choices. Think of it as your own personal decision-making assistant, helping you navigate complexity and make sense of it all.

What next?

The ON Prime journey was a rollercoaster, with plenty of twists and turns. But thanks to those 80+ interviews and the guidance from the CSIRO team, facilitators and mentors, we’re in a much stronger position now. Feature development is well underway, and we’re aiming to release our proof of concept in early 2025.
